A final bow on Pine Log: For about two weeks we have observed a rare, but very pleasing to the eye, growth and maturing of a plot of Virginia Bluebells. The phenomenon of the pink blooms evolving into a beautiful sky blue was intriguing and amazing. Two days ago I ventured there again, and was heartened to see that they were still in full bloom.Today I was back and the scenario was quite different.Thefirst thought that came to mind was "they are taking their final bow."As far as I know, only four people had witnessed the display they had put on,but they shined for us as though it had been four thousand.Their worth or importance is not measured by how many admired or acknowledged them, but in their reflection of the life within them. Now as they clearly are taking their final bow,act one is just beginning for others around them. And so goes, seemingly, the cycle of life here on Earth. The final bow is appointed to every man.End of story? This pondering writer believes not.For just as the final bow is being taken here on Earth, act one,is starting in eternity. For the believer, the final bow, will be before the one who made it possible to leave behind a world of final bows.I hope to see the Bluebells again next year, where once again I will be reminded that the final bow is not the end.How they did shine! Wishing you comfort and peace from Pine Log

Learning patience on Pine Log:I heard the signal voice of the turtle dove on Pine Log five weeks ago.I thought surely spring would descend upon us immediately.Alas, try as I might I could not rush it,and had to be reminded that I was not in control of such wonderful and marvelous things.Since hearing that voice I have been on Pine Log almost daily, looking for signs.I have been on Pine Log in bitter cold and wondered;how much longer?Pine Log,undeterred, just kept on flowing.I have been on Pine Log on dark, stormy days.I have been there with snow flying.I have been there after severe storms and witnessed the effects of the storm as trees fell and took huge chunks out of Pine Log.Yes,this was a spring that would not be rushed.Through all of the calamity, Pine Log kept right on moving, waiting.Just doing what it was supposed to do.Its' reward was obvious this afternoon.Spring green grass bursting forth, wildflower blooms adorning the landscape, the trees beginning to put forth new, golden, soon to be green, leaves.Pine Log taking on a whole new look, its' reward, for being patient. As Pine Log is rewarded,so am I.The life that was ordered to the roots last winter has heard the call to come forth, and it is a beautiful thing.I believe there is a spiritual intelligence behind this process. An intelligence far greater than anything of this natural world.I see him in this process,as well as I do in the tiny bird tracks.yes, patience is a virtue ,and is something that we're not born with, but is something we must learn. The reward is very satisfying.Happy spring to you from Pine Log!We have waited for it(sometimes not so patiently)and it is here at last! Get out, enjoy it,and glorify God in it
